Governance
Governance in the health sector has been a constant challenge, undermining service delivery and budgetary investments. The capacity to regulate the public and the private sector health market is weak. There is no uniform approach for managing the governance of health institutions, and capacity for contracting services is not optimal. Federal and provincial health authorities must rebuild their stewardship of the health system ensuring sector-wide strategic planning, innovative management, budgetary commitment and establishing accountability mechanisms.
